Can you honestly say that religion and belief in God doesn't cause bizarre behaviour sometimes?

Rather then causing bizarre behavior, I think religion and a overly strong belief in a god may be a symptom of mental illness FOR SOME PEOPLE. If so, then that mental illness gets expressed as a bizarre behavior.
