You can't do science or medical labs online. It's a lot harder to explain things to people over email and websites than in person. And a lot harder to get one-on-one tutoring. And there's no substitute for having an experienced professor or research adviser. Online schools don't work for a lot of people - especially the ones who don't have the motivation themselves to finish an ignment if there's no someone checking up on them every day.
